MUTCD Law Changes Part VI- Important Compliance Dates

My last post included a detailed description and links to the various sign size changes and lettering changes in the 2009 Edition of the MUTCD. Now that we have informed you of some of the more relevant changes to signs throughout the new edition, all that's left is to keep you informed of the relevant compliance dates for each section!
After reviewing the table that details all the compliance dates starting in January of 2011 (yes, there are some items already in effect), I have pulled out all the pertinent dates to the articles that we have posted. Click on the links below to view the article, which in turn will take you to the relevant section(s) throughout the 2009 MUTCD.

Update:
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has stated that the FHWA is proposing to eliminate several of the required compliance dates for MUTCD Compliant Traffic Signs.
View the proposed changes on the FHWA Website now, and check back here! As soon as these changes are in effect, we will update you on any dates, language, and section(s) affected.
